International Women's Day 2009

Welcome

Countries around the world recognised International Women's Day on Sunday 8th March 2009, with some marking it as a national holiday. In 1913 International Women's Day was transferred to 8 March and this day has remained the global date for International Wommen's Day ever since.

There are many International Women's Day events happening across the UK throughout March 2009.

Loughborough University has a Staff Group for Women, which helps to bring issues to the attention of the University. Additionally the University is currently organising Focus Groups on Race, Disability and Gender Schemes, this is an opportunity for you to come along and have your say, helping the University to prioritise the future agenda for these schemes.

Do have a look at the additional information, with links to other relevant sites, that I am sure you will find of interest. Please visit us again to find out more about the Equality and Diversity agenda here at Loughborough University.
